New Materials To Work With

I have a love of Funko Pop Figures. I have quite a collection and am adding to it all the time. They have so many options of genres of Pop Figures. They have done a few Literary inspired ones like Edgar Allen Poe. No Jane Austen yet. So I decided That I really wanted a Jane Austen one. SO the only way to get that was to make my own. So I looked up tutorials on other people who made their own Jane Austen Pop figures and which ones they use to create them.

This is the example that I found. I found and bought the exact one she used. I didn't like it so much because one of the ones she used was now up to like $100. Didn't want to spend that, so the movie Pride and Prejudice and zombies came out and they had Pop figures made out of them. So I got one with the look I was going for to help with the head. That is the problem I was running into.

So these are the 2 I bought. Aurora for the body, and Jane Bennet  from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. So Besides the painting the biggest part was assembling the parts together into one figure then get the paints gathered to give it all a final look.

So you have to use a hair dryer to loosen the glue on the heads. Also something I have learned is that the flesh colors are not all the same and now some of the newer ones have different size head openings depending on their design. So you really have to look into all these things before you can really do it. So I hair dryer off the heads.

So with that done I epoxied the correct head to the correct body. Let it dry over night and it was ready to paint. I thought I had some in process pictures, but I have bought a new computer and 3 new phones between then and now. So I have no idea where they ended up. Hopefully I will find them one day and add tho the post.

So this is my finished Jane Austen Funko. I love how she turned out. I don't know if I will customize one again, but I like having my very own Jane Austen Pop Figure. So thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog. I hope you have an amazing day!!

Coming Home

I have been out of the blogging world for quite sometime. My life has changed in so many ways that are too numerous to name. I don't regret any of it, because it got me to the amazing new place in my life. As life often does throw us curve balls and sometimes pitches us the perfect ball we hit right out of the park. (I know a sports metaphor, I can't believe that I used it either.)

So during the rest of all this Covid-19 lock down/self quarantine, whichever you find yourself in. I am going to be revamping my blogs going with getting a new business off the ground. So if my post and the blog start to really become a bit different then don't worry. Put on your hard hat and come along for the ride.

So Sunday here in the US is Mother's Day. I have gone from being a daughter, to a wife, a mother, and now a grandmother. It amazes me how quick life can change and our titles as women change with it. Being a mother is the hardest and most rewarding job I have ever had.

I only have one chick left in my nest. Over the years we found out the she is a high functioning Autistic. The actual diagnosis is ASD Type 2. As a Mom you always want to take away any of your child's pain and struggles. This one I can't do anything other than be there for her and learn what to do to help her.

So I wanted to do a free Image from Dover. Sign up with them and you get a free image every month, sometimes more than one. I know I have mentioned it before but it wonderful source of free images for Mixed Media Art work. You never know what you will get sent. So that is something I think I want to start is a Dover Image challenge. That is only some of the things I want to get started on this blog.

So Happy Mother's Day out there to everyone! This silhouette I just thought was so beautiful. It reminded me of those wonderful simple moments the we have with our kids. Now I am not the kind of Mother who is a sappy person (ok I am all mush on the inside, but seriously don't tell my kids that) who is always thinking motherhood is this amazing miracle and just flowers and birds singing. I am a down to earth realist. Things happen teen years are so tough, I have called my Mom so many times and said I am so so sorry I had no idea how much of a brat I was. Till your kids act like you, you just don't get what we put our own Moms thru.

This is what I am like as a person in my day to day life. You make do with what you have, or find away to get what you need. Never ever stop fighting for your kids and yourself. That faith and hope are real things I use to get thru most days. Which I think I can safely say we all are there right now in this day and age we live in. We have no idea what normal is going to be. Don't worry we aren't alone in this. The whole world is going thru this too. So chin up Ladies, give yourself a break and pat yourself on the back. You have made it this far you can make it the rest of the way.

Now not all my posts Will be this lengthy, ok they maybe sometimes, but mostly they won't. I just wanted to kind of introduce myself back into the blogisphere again. So welcome and enjoy looking around. I will be keeping all of my old posts up and just keep adding more.
